Do you miss travelling? that feeling of packing your bags and heading off into the great unkmown just can't be beat. You might not be able to travel freely just yet, but we've got the next best thing! With a little crefativity, you can plan your own Asian getaway at home! Read on to get inspired.

Soups

Soups are a traditional way to start a meal in many Asian countries, and there’s certainly no lack of options to choose from! A Chinese wonton soup, with its tasty broth, is perfect for piquing the appetite, while a substantial miso soup is a nice tribute to the flavours of Japan. If you’re in the mood for something a little different, try tom yum, a Thai classic that’s bursting with flavour, or Vietnamese pho, a beef soup with rice noodles.

Appetizers

For your next course, serve up some easytoprepare appetizers. Japanese tempura vegetables, coated in crispy panko breadcrumbs, will be a hit with the whole table, whether you’re frying up zucchini, asparagus or any one of your favourite veggies. Another great option is cauliflower bang bang, our vegetarian take on breaded shrimp. It’ll knock your socks off! If fried foods aren’t your cup of tea, try our light, fresh spring rolls or vegetable and shrimp dumplings. Paired with delicious teriyaki sauce, they’re sure to cause a stir!

Mains

It’s time for the main course, so let’s get down to business! There are a number of classics we just couldn’t overlook, such as Chinese noodles, pad Thai, chop suey, stir-fry and pork fried rice, but this is also a great opportunity to try out some traditional Asian recipes that you might be less familiar with, such as bibimbap, bol bun cha or kung pao vegetables. You can also try presenting everything restaurantstyle by stir frying a variety of proteins, such as chicken, seafood, beef, pork, tofu and vegetables. Add some fried rice and an assortment of rolls and egg rolls, and serve everything up on the table with some steamed rice, vermicelli and salads.

Desserts

Everyone loves a little something sweet to cap off a great meal, and Asian cuisine is no exception. Putting tropical fruit forward is one great option, whether it’s pineapple flan or fried banana. Coconut milk is another fantastic ingredient. It adds a distinctive flavour to cookies, ice cream and cakes. And , if you think rice is just for savoury dishes, think again! Rice pudding, stuffed rolls, mochi and more: now’s the time to wow your guests with the unexpected!
